We’re incredibly proud to announce our guest editor at Comic Con Finland, Andrea Shea, Editor at DC Comics. She will do portfolio reviews at the event and host a panel named “How to get to work for DC Comics”. These portfolio reviews will be a magnificent opportunity for those aspiring to become professional comic-book interior or cover pencillers, inkers, colorists… anything is possible! Here’s your chance to get a portfolio review at Comic Con Finland! Follow these steps to ensure your portfolio gets seen:

Preparation:

Prepare your portfolio: Make sure your portfolio consists of COPIES, never originals. Each portfolio must be in A4 size and include a curriculum vitae after the cover as page 1.

Portfolio Content: Your portfolio should contain a minimum of six pages and a maximum of 15. Whether you’re a penciller, inker, or colorist, showcase your best work. Inkers should also include the pencils they’ve inked, and colorists should display both colored and black-and-white pages.

Cover and Contact Information: Design a cover illustration for your portfolio and include your full name or pen name, along with your contact information. Additionally, ensure that each interior page has your full name and contact info at the top.

Acknowledge Return Policy: Understand that while we’ll make every effort to return portfolios, there’s no guarantee. Please refrain from including any original artwork.

Submission:

Free Access: Anyone can submit their portfolio, but only selected individuals will receive private meetings with the editor.

Selection Process: Portfolios will be reviewed by the editor, who will determine which artists are ready or have the potential to become professional artists.

Access to Meetings: Selected artists will be asked to show ID to attend the meeting, as only those chosen can participate.

Review Schedule:

Portfolio Drop-off: Artists can submit their portfolios at the editor’s table until 2:00 pm each day of the show.

Review Process: The editor will review portfolios and select individuals for meetings, which will commence at 3:30 pm and last for two hours. Each meeting will last approximately 15 minutes. Selected names will be announced on a whiteboard around 3pm.

Return Policy: If your name isn’t on the list, you can request your portfolio back, and we’ll return it whenever possible.
